In Chinese literature, "The Song of the Sunny Pass" is synonymous with "a
parting tune," for it had its origin in the famous saying, "west of the Sunny Pass
no more old friends will you see." I studied in Canada on my own for four years.
With my graduation approaching and my visa expiring, I was tasked with this
final assignment in my last high school art class — to dismantle and discard all
the artworks I cannot bring with me. This series, then, is about the inevitable
partings we have to go through in order to move on — both physically and
spiritually.
